Acacia coriaceae

Description

A tall spreading shrub or small tree 10-25'x 6-12' with golden yellow ball flowers in summer-autumn and silvery grey curved narrow leaves. Prefers full sun in well drained light to heavy soils. Very drought and frost tolerant. Fast growing. Tolerates alkaline soils. Excellent for dry inland sites. Growing well in Ojai and the Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanic Garden with no water once established.

Propagation Information: Seed germinates readily. Pour boiling water over seed and let soak overnight. Drench seed with a fungicide to prevent "Damping Off" after sowing.
