Viminaria juncea

Description

Ornamental small tree (15-18') with pendulous, leafless branches and sprays of yellow flowers in spring. Fast growing and tolerant of light to moderate frost (25F). Attractive around pools and ponds. Appears to be tolerant of all soils and situations. Growing well in Ojai CA in well-drained, heavy, slightly alkaline soils, full sun. Branches tend to die back which can detract from the attractiveness of the plant. Ocassionally available.
