Acacia myrtifolia

Description

Long lived, hardy variable shrub found growing in most coastal heath-lands in temperate areas in Australia. Winter flowering with red new growth in spring. Moderately frost hardy and drought tolerant. Leaves are like European myrtle and if pruned regularly will keep a compact shape and display bright red new foliage most of the year. Narrow leaf form is found in Western Australia and South Australia.
