Carex appressa

Description

This is a handsome grass-like plant from all mainland states in Australia. It grows well in damp situations and areas with poor drainage. It will also tolerate dry areas with low summer rainfall. They are 2-3' tall with slender bright green arching leaves. I cut them back every year and they bounce back in a couple of weeks. Beautiful in the breeze.
